Membership in the Flying Pig Living Books Library is an investment in your family’s education and your children’s love of reading great books. We believe, like Charlotte Mason, that children will develop a taste for books they have been “fed.” If they devour the great books on a regular basis, they will develop a taste for the great books for the rest of their lives. As a member, you’ll have access to our entire collection of carefully curated living books - books you won’t find in your local library, books that are old and rare and wonderful, books that will change the way your family thinks and learns.

Choose Your Membership
Every family is different. Some are looking for great books to read aloud while curled up on the couch. Others are building a full Charlotte Mason curriculum and need reliable access to living books term after term. And some want a partner in the process - someone with experience to help them find the right books for the right child at the right time.
We have a membership for each of you.
We have intentionally kept membership costs low. This library exists to serve families, not to turn a profit. Every dollar collected goes directly back into the collection - expanding the shelves, filling requests, and tracking down the books you need.
Reader Membership - $20/year
For families who love great books and want access to a curated collection.

Lending Policies & Book Care Agreement
The Flying Pig Living Books Library collection represents decades of careful curation. Many of our volumes are out of print and irreplaceable. We ask that all members treat borrowed books like treasured family heirlooms.
Please:
Keep books away from food, drink, wet surfaces and pets.
Return books in the same condition in which they were borrowed.
Note on Caring for Older Books:
Older books can be more fragile than modern paperbacks. When opening a vintage hardcover, ease it open gently rather than cracking the spine flat. Store borrowed books upright on a shelf rather than stacked flat when possible. If a book has a dust jacket, keep it on - it protects the cover. And if a book feels fragile in your hands, trust that instinct and handle it accordingly.
Please Note:
Many of our books are vintage and have been read and loved many, many times over the decades and in some cases century. You may find pencil markings, bookplates, previous owner inscriptions, or minor wear. These are part of their history and charm - not damage caused by you. Despite their fragile nature, we want to share these books with families and are conscious of the fact that many of these books will come into your hands with flaws and damage.
Lost or Damaged Books:
Members are responsible for the replacement cost of lost books or books returned with new damage. We will always have a gracious conversation before any replacement is requested.
Returns:
Books are due according to your membership loan period. Please reach out if you need an extension - we are always happy to work with you.

By purchasing a membership, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these lending policies.
